Ooty is located in the beautiful Nilgiri Hills of Tamil Nadu, and it’s a paradise for both nature lovers and people who love having adventures. It is famous for its beautiful greenery, expansive tea plantations and colonial architecture. Ooty becomes a magical place during the monsoon months. It receives a good amount of rainfall every year which rejuvenates its greenery and refreshes its waterfalls.

Below is a list of 7 amazing waterfalls in and around Ooty that you shouldn’t miss this monsoon season:

1. Pykara falls

Pykara falls is truly a gem situated around 20 kilometers away from Ooty. These falls are formed by the Pykara River, which originates from the Mukurthi Peak. The Pykara river flows over a series of rocky steps, creating multiple cascades that drop from a height of 55 meters. The sight of the water gushing down amidst the lush greenery and the misty ambiance is truly enchanting. A boat ride on the serene Pykara Lake, located nearby, is an added attraction that offers a perfect blend of tranquility and adventure.
