Everything You Need To Know About Pulga Village In Kasol -

Pulga, a village located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh is home to the infamous but extraordinary fairy forest. If you are a wanderer, this is a must-visit. The landscape comprises of pine trees, a serene river, and the snow-capped Himalayas in the backdrop. The entire 360 view feels like magic coming alive before your eyes, hence giving it a unique name.

Best Time To Visit

The best time to visit the forest would be in the summer as it can get really cold during the winter making the experience a little tedious. Though it is easily accessible from Kasol, there are no buses or taxis that operate from Kasol to Pulga. The only way to reach Pulga and the mysterious Fairy forest is to hike to it.

The Bus Ride

The bus that leaves from Kasol stops at Manikaran and Barshaini. It stops for 30 minutes at Manikaran and moves on. Having said that, make sure you are getting on the bus before the 30 mins are up. Himachali bus conductors are very strict with their timings. The chances of missing your bus or losing your seat are extremely high. The trek from Barshaini to Pulga is approximately one hour.

The Trek

One could also trek from Kulga, a village close to Pulga. The huge and looming tree canopies give the whole atmosphere of the forest a rather trippy look. You will see women weaving shawls, beekeepers tending to their honey, several pahadi children playing about and maybe even some foreign travellers jamming in the middle of the forest. The view from the edges of the forest is in fact majestic. It has a bunch of waterfalls and natural pools. If you’re comfortable with swimming in the wild and natural waters then this will most likely feel like paradise to you.

Things To Do

A little farther from Pulga is the Bhandak Thatch meadows. Lots of travellers say that the sight of the mountain view coupled with the breeze and the leaves of the sub-tropical trees (shaped like fairy wings) make you feel like you are in an enchanted land altogether. That is something you should definitely experience on your next trip to Himachal Pradesh.

The fairy forest Pulga is not the only attraction there. The village itself is quite charming. There are a bunch of places to eat in Pulga like Jacky's Kitchen, Marigold Cafe, Boom Shankar, and Devraj Cafe for authentic Israeli cuisines like hummus pita, shakshuka, and falafel.

The Perfect Escape

Another great thing about it is that the service to your phone will be almost nil all the time here. So you can very frankly cut off from social media, emails, and calls (basically the rest of the world) and enjoy your time to the fullest! To cut it short - with everything and every sight being spectacular, the fairy forest Pulga is sure to leave you stunned, rejuvenated and relaxed.
