Okay, let’s clear one thing; Hyderabad is not just about biryani, IT hubs, and Charminar. This city has a darker, creepier side too. If you're into ghost stories and abandoned places or just wanna test how brave your friends are, this blog is for you.

We’ve dug out some of the most haunted places in Hyderabad. Some have legit horror stories, some just give off weird energy, and some... well, they’ll make you question reality.

Let’s get into it!

1. Kundanbagh House

Imagine living in a normal society, everything feels fine. You’ve got neighbors, you see flickering lights at night, hear loud laughter, and sometimes even spot a woman walking around the house.

Until one day... when the cops break the door and find three decomposed bodies of a mother and her two daughters.

This happened in 2002 at Kundanbagh, an upscale colony in Begumpet. And here’s the creepy part, the bodies had been dead for MONTHS, but everyone thought the house was still active. No one knows who or what the neighbours were seeing. Even now, locals avoid that lane. The house is still locked, abandoned, and gives off major chills.

You better start reading your prayers after seeing this

2. Golkonda Fort

Golkonda Fort was once the capital of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, A 400-year-old architectural marvel. Many tourists include this as the top things to do in Hyderabad. But after sunset, the story changes.

The fort is said to be haunted by Taramati, a legendary dancer. She used to perform for Sultan Abdullah Qutb Shah, who fell deeply in love with her. Their love story, however, ended in heartbreak during the kingdom’s most unstable times and many believe her soul still lingers here. And that’s the reason you’re not allowed inside past 6 PM.

Would you dare to visit this place... alone... at night?

3. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, located in Shamshabad, looks all fancy and modern, but behind the runway lights and lounges, there’s a ghost story that refuses to die. Pilots and ground staff have reportedly seen a woman in a white saree near the runway; she appears out of nowhere and disappears right after. Some passengers have felt like they were being followed inside empty corridors late at night.

One pilot even delayed a takeoff after seeing someone standing on the runway… but no one else saw it. Spooky, right?

Looks normal… until someone spots her. Would you?

4. Ravindra Nagar

The story goes back to the 90s, when a temple idol was accidentally damaged during construction here. And that caused chaos, unexplained deaths, panic among locals, and mass evacuations. Residents believed the area had been cursed since then.

To this day, people notice weird things; they hear whispers in their sleep, see shadows move, and even get sick after entering certain houses. Many families left after this.

5. Banjara Hills Road no. 12

Back in the day, Banjara Hills used to be a forest land, and hardly anyone lived there, except for a few VIPs from the Nizam dynasty who used to hunt here. Now, it’s a fancy area, but Road No. 12 still gives off serious weird vibes because of the old graveyard there.

Lots of folks have seen a woman in a white saree (yes, the white saree women is constant) standing by the road late at night, asking for a lift. And disappears the moment she gets in the car. Even auto drivers avoid going there after midnight. Some say their headlights go off on their own, others say their cars just stop working near that graveyard. It might sound like a story, but way too many people have had the same experience.

Look closely... you might not be alone here

6. Ramoji Film City

Sounds unreal, right? Even we thought so before knowing the real story. Manyyy iconic films were shot at Ramoji Film City. The crazy part is that this entire film city is said to be haunted.

Built on what was once a battlefield from the Nizam era, the land is believed to carry the spirits of soldiers who died in combat. Cast and crew members have reported bizarre incidents. The lights have crashed, strange shadows are present in the footage, and food is knocked off plates. There are stories of actresses being mysteriously pushed in their green rooms, and some even refusing to shoot alone. Guards have strict no-entry rules after dark. What do you think? Is this just a coincidence?

Also, did you know there’s another film set in Mumbai that’s also said to be haunted? If you want to know more? Read it here.

Just a random set… (maybe)

No one has full-proof evidence about these places. But we can't ignore how many people still talk about these spots, avoid them after dark, or have wild stories that just don’t add up.
